Whilst you might be in need of a relaxing day to recover from and discuss last night at venue, your weekly budget (especially after all those shots and late night essentials) might not allow you to go to a fancy spa. However with a little imagination, you can turn your home into a haven of relaxation, so put your hair up, take your makeup off, get on your dressing gowns and unwind.

Make your own steam room

Turn the shower temperature up, run that cold tap in the sink and close the window – you’ve got yourself an instant steam room. Being great for your skin, steam opens up the pores and leaves you feeling fresh. If your housemate is hogging the bathroom, you can do this on a smaller scale by filling a bowl with boiling water, placing a towel over your head and leaning over it, being careful you don’t get too sleepy and fall into it!

If you prefer the dry heat of the sauna, and have a good deal with your bills, crank up the heating, close the doors and windows and the room will soon become a test of stamina as to how long you can stay in there.

Hair Masks

Whilst the ‘sauna’ or ‘steam room’ is doing wonders for you skin, you could also be fixing your hair which might be starting to feel dry after drink being thrown in it while you’re out. A hair mask, much like a conditioner, is to be left in whilst you’re in a warm environment, and rinsed out, leaving your hair refreshed and smelling good, as they often include the use of lemon juice.

It’s all about those nails…

If you live in a house with other girls then you have the best (and cheapest) beauticians around! Manicures and pedicures are great cures for hangovers and, as the saying goes, if you look good, you feel good. From your fingers down to your toes, a pretty nude or a bright pop of colour can make the world of difference.

Face Masks!!

Whether you get them cheaply from Superdrug, or want to make your own from honey and sugar, face masks are the perfect excuse to not do anything – especially with that cucumber on your eyes, the reading for tomorrow will have to wait half an hour. When making your own, sugar is a great exfoliator and paired with honey it’ll smell good while doing good, just don’t forget to moisturise after!

Head Massages

Head still banging after all the heavy beats at Trend? If you’re in need of a nice head massage but no one is around or willing to do so, Tiger are currently selling head massagers fairly cheaply, which will allow you to either send shivers down your friends’ spines, or give yourself the massage you need. If it’s your feet that need the massage after all that dancing or walking to and from campus, you can know exactly which pain means what and massage the right area by purchasing reflexology socks from Amazon.
