A University of Kent student who had her phone stolen whilst on holiday in September has woken up almost four months later to find pictures of people in the Dominican Republic, over 7,000km away from where she lost it.

  • Photos taken 4,000 miles away from where phone was lost

  • 26 photos were taken, including selfies of a yet unknown woman wearing a necklace saying “Sexy”

  • The photos appeared on her Google account on 31st December, almost four months after losing the phone

The Kent student, wishing to remain anonymous, was holidaying in Ibiza back in September when her phone was stolen, and woke up this morning to find dozens of different photos of a yet unknown woman and presumably her family on her Google+ Account after the automatic back-up setting was left turned on.

Posting the photos on her Facebook timeline, she said “The person that stole my phone didn’t turn off auto back up, so I’ve received these lovely snaps from the Dominican Republic this morning…”

Speaking to InQuire, the student said “I just found the photos quite amusing, I’d already come to terms with losing my phone so I wasn’t as annoyed as I may have been if it was the next day.”

“It’s very strange seeing the person who took your phone as you would never expect that, but still very funny as they obviously have no idea!
