The news comes after the University was nominated last week for University of the Year for the Times Higher Education Awards, and follows Kent being ranked 16th in The Guardian University League Tables earlier this year.

Kent has also found success recently in the Research Excellence Framework 2014, where it was ranked at number 17 out of all higher education institutions in the UK for research intensity; a result that surely contributed to this high ranking by The Times.

Speaking about this latest piece of good news for the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Dame Julia Goodfellow, remarked: “Once again, this is excellent news for Kent. Within the past twelve months we have confirmed our position and international reputation as one of the best research and teaching institutions in the UK. I congratulate all of our staff on this latest outstanding achievement.”
