I think it’s a very knotty issue and I wasn’t able to answer the question. I don’t have the impression that piracy can be stopped, at least at the moment (I don’t know how the structure of the internet will evolve). Yet the creators must be rewarded…
What I do now : I download but I buy merch from the bands i love (since for a £15 Tshirt they will probably earn more than if i buy their £15 DVD -at least I hope it’s true!): I think it’s a good way to support those who make the stuff we listen or watch everyday and are sometimes important parts of our lives.
