Nero Performs at The Venue

On Friday the 23rd of September, The Venue hosted Nero. At around half seven a queue of eager Freshers had already begun to form, even though the event wasn’t due till eight pm.

While Nero was not due till midnight, the YEAH! DJs performed a few DJ sets to warm up the crowds. Playing a mixture of mod step, dub step and some hip-hop/pop, those who attended the event were kept merry and cheerful. There was a great turn out as both the upper and lower areas of the venue were full to the brim.The bar staff were under tremendous pressure to provide for the large demand, of which they deftly managed to handle.

It is now 12midnight and Nero is on stage. There is a loud cheer and many record the Dj set with their various smart phones and recording devices, as though they wanted to make sure they did not miss anything and could re-live the night later, perhaps the next morning, after hangovers.

Even Mr Crazy Hands made an appearance, hypnotizing the crowd with his crazy hands. The atmosphere was great. This was partly due to the excitement from both fans of Nero and the Freshers, who were grateful that the University of Kent and the Kent Union had provided them with great entertainment on the night. While many were unimpressed about the initial queue to get into The Venue, the night was still a success.
