Kent hits the world record books again

The University of Kent has entered the Guinness World Records books for a second year running, this time for the largest gathering of Wallys in the world.

126 students assembled at the Kent Union and BBC Introducing organised Festihill to take part in the successful record attempt which was organised by former student Ollie Goudling. Last year the University of Kent entered the record books for having the ‘largest number of robotic dancers’.

Goulding, who was clearly delighted at the sucess, had earlier been seen nervously standing around the field as the bad weather had raised the possibility that not enough people would attend to beat the record which required at least 100 people to be official. The weather cleared slightly however and one last push for students managed to bring the number up to 126.

Unfortunately there was one casualty of the weather. An attempt to hold the largest game of musical statues had to be cancelled as the number of people at the festival was far short of the 500 people needed to break the record. An unofficial game, featuring all the wallys, did however take place.
